Choirs

Bella Voce

This auditioned choir is for treble boys and girls in grades 4 and up.  They meet on Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:00 PM.  This choir will perform in three major concerts with additional community performances possible, usually
during regular rehearsal time.  Daily home practice and home theory study are expected for this group.  This group of outstanding young singers not only works to perfect performance skills but also learns the basics of choral music reading skills so that members may successfully advance to Colla Voce with the instructor’s permission.  A minimum of a fourth grade level reading skill is required for success in this group, but music reading skills are not required.  Membership requires a year-long commitment with regular, on-time attendance at all rehearsals and performances. Colla Voce
Colla Voce, 2009

This auditioned choir includes treble singers in grades 6 and up who meet either once or twice a week depending upon their music reading and vocal skill levels as determined by the director.  Monday’s rehearsal (5:30-6:50 PM) is for all members and will include sequenced group theory lessons and sight singing instruction as well as song preparation and performance.  Thursday’s rehearsal (5:30-7:00PM) for the more advanced members of the group (Colla Voce Prima) will be more performance based and will add more challenging literature at no additional cost in tuition.  Colla Voce is for treble boys and girls and performs unison to six part treble music.  Membership requires some music reading skills, and the ability to harmonize and sing independently.  Home practice and home theory study are expected.  In addition to the three major concerts per year, this group is called upon frequently for other performances throughout the school year for community events.  Singers are expected to attend the fall retreat and to participate in the summer tour.  (Fundraising opportunities will be offered).  Membership requires a year-long commitment with regular, on-time attendance at all rehearsals and performances.  TUITION & FEES
